When you’re getting ready for job interviews, you’re likely going to prepare your responses, thinking about what you’ll be wearing, and doing as much research as possible about the recruiting company. However, you might be missing one very important factor…the way you deliver.

Related: always ask this question at the end of an interview!

How you deliver your answers says A LOT about you. If you don’t do it the right way, you risk making the wrong impression. Here are a few tips for optimizing your delivery during interviews:

Be clear and concise.

When you ramble on, make a point to be CLEAR and CONCISE with your responses to avoid looking like you don’t really know how to answer the question

Communicate a lot of confidence.

If you’re not conveying confidence in yourself or your answers, you can appear to be insecure to the interviewer. Your interviewer might think, “If she doesn’t believe in herself, why should I take a chance on her?”
Remember: communicate confidence!

Watch out your body language.

Body language and effective communication are just as important (or even more) as your responses during an interview. Do not cross your arms or slouch. Sit tall answer the interviewer’s questions with confidence.

Show them you’re really excited about the opportunity.

Lack of enthusiasm is the major opportunity killer. Let’s say a recruiter has two equally qualified applicants. One has expressed real excitement for the opportunity. Which candidate is that employer more likely to select? The one who’s clearly excited about joining the company! Why? Simply because this candidate connects with the company in a way that reveals his passion for the job!

When you’re replying the interviewer’s questions, make sure you’re showing ENTHUSIASM. It can also help boost your confidence – And when you’re confident, you get better results!

Practice, practice, practice!

This is where mock interviewing comes into play. The more you practice, the more confident you’ll be in your answers and delivery, and you’ll be landing your dream job faster!
